Adopt a Vine

As you may know, in 1999, we purchased an 80 acre farm near the winery, which is the home of Leaser Lake Vineyards. This parcel carries significant historical background dating back to pre Revolutionary War. The original log home, owned by Frederick Leaser still stands and the property serves as the resting place for many Revolutionary War heroes. The Daughters of the American Revolution historian has documented the fact that Frederick Leaser, a modest farmer, played a very important role in history. It seems that during his periodical journey to Philadelphia, Leaser offered himself and horse and wagon to the Revolutionary cause to carry the Liberty Bell from Philadelphia to Grace Church in Allentown, to protect it from the British.

We have made a commitment to quality, and feel the only way to preserve this quality is to grow the grapes to produce our wines.  Therefore, in Spring of 2000 we planted 15,000 vines, including Riesling, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay, Chambourcin, Petite Syrah, and last but not least Merlot.

In August of each year you will be invited to a plaque ceremony. During the first ceremony, you will be given a plaque with your chosen inscription to place next to a vine of your choice. Starting the 2nd year you will be presented a specially labeled bottle of wine at the ceremony for the next 5 years. The ceremony is followed by a wine tasting with entertainment and hors d’oeuvres.
